Warriors lose Game 2, Butler as Rockets try to seize momentum

Jimmy Butler would have been a game changer for a Golden State Warriors team that is trying to make a serious run for the NBA championship.

But in a bizarre twist of fate, the Warriors lost Butler early in the first quarter of Game 2 of their playoff series against the Houston Rockets, who are now seizing momentum following the absence of one of Golden State’s key players.

Butler crashed hard to the floor, his pelvis hitting the floor hard when he lost his balance in a collision with Amen Thompson. Thompson was about to fall down and accidentally ran underneath into Butler while the latter was airborne.

The many-time All-Star left the game with three points and two rebounds.

During the series opener, Butler had 25 points, seven rebounds and six assists in the Warriors’ dominant 95-85 win.

The Rockets went business as usual and Jalen Green was able to get the job done, knocking in 38 points in leading the Rockets to a 109-94 triumph.

Wirth Butler’s condition uncertain, the Rockets are ready to pounce on the momentum and eye a series lead.

Game Three will be played on Saturday, April 26. Rabbi Jarque
