Race to the top gets more exciting in TAT Passi leg

It couldn’t get any more exciting than seeing four teams jostling out for position to take the lead in Passi leg’s The Asian Tournament.

Four teams are bunched up on top — the Aces, the Black Bears of Macau, the local team Titans of Passi and the Islanders of Kalmado — all carrying identical 3-1 slates, but anyone of them can move up and boost their bid more with a victory when action resumes on Saturday.

The last two games of Saturday’s four-game bill is expected to be gigantic battles as these four teams will have to change their fortunes at each other’s expense.

Passi delivered an inspiring victory over the erstwhile undefeated Aces squad before the much-needed break and will try to carry the momentum of that big win when it takes on a crack Macau squad at 5 p.m.

The Titans outlasted the Aces, 111-109, a fitting payback from the sorry 89-75 against the Black Bears of Macau where they squandered a 17-point lead.

But the home squad will have another opportunity of moving up and settling the score with their old tormentors in what could be a pivotal game for the Titans.

The Aces and the Islanders clash in the main game at 7 p.m., both carrying the agenda of winning and vaulting their way on top.

Also seeing action in the four-game scheduled matches are the Hong Kong Vanta Black Dragons, who will take on Phuket Whales at 1 p.m. and Guangzhou Loong Lions squaring off with Chichi Fresh Kicks Gamu Wildcats at 3 p.m.
