Winning is the best revenge to make up for a painful setback and the Detroit Pistons not only just did that, but they conquered Madison Square Garden and bounced back strong in defeating the New York Knicks in Game 5 of their playoff series on Wednesday following a tense 106-103 win.
The Pistons’ victory kept their playoff hopes alive while shrugging off that controversial loss they suffered at home when there was a non-call against Tim Hardaway Jr., who got hit by Josh Hart.
Just recently, the National Basketball Association admitted that a foul should have been called on Hart, but while the ending was painful, the Pistons regathered for Game 5 and came back tougher.
Cade Cunningham was solid both in producing points and playmaking and Ausar Thompson was more efficient offensively, finishing with 22 points while hitting 8-of-10 shots.
The Pistons return home to play Game 6 at Little Ceasar’s Arena on Friday, hoping to stretch the series more and force a rubber match.
