SBP partners with Uratex Dream to support Gilas 3×3 Women

The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas renews its partnership with Uratex Dream in support of Gilas 3×3 Women. This continued collaboration will lead to the second straight year of representation for the Philippines in the FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series.

“The SBP values strong relationships with our partners and we’ve seen just how committed Uratex Dream is in helping our female basketball players,” said Executive Director Erika Dy. “We produced great results in our first year together so it was natural for us to pursue even more success moving forward.”

In the 2024 season of the FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series, the Philippines finished ranked 18th out of 51 teams from all over the world who competed. Their best finish in a tournament was at the fifth spot in the series’ stop in Wuhan, China.

The SBP gained more than 20 spots in the women’s 3×3 rankings because of these efforts and all these points are crucial to the Olympic hopes of Gilas 3×3 Women, especially now that the 3×3 entries for 2028 Los Angeles Olympics has been raised from eight to 12.

“We thank the SBP for once again giving our organization the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the development of women’s basketball in the country,” said Peachy Medina of Uratex Dream.

“The excellent results from the past year’s efforts make it clear that we have to run it back. We laud the SBP for their leadership, and we are honored to be a part of this meaningful endeavor.”

This year’s pool will have the likes of Mikka Cacho, Kaye Pingol, Tantoy Ferrer, Lexi Pana, and Sam Harada.
