Phoenix puts more pressure on winless TNT; NLEX in cruise control

Now here’s something really alarming for TNT: The Tropang 5G had just absorbed their third straight loss in as many games and bowed to the Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters, 81-95, on Friday’s main game in the PBA Philippine Cup at the Ynares Center in Montalban, Rizal.

The Fuel Masters’ defense worked double time, holding them to just 39.7% shooting from the field.

But the Tropang 5G didn’t have an answer in containing Jason Perkins, who pumped in 27 points while hitting all of his three attempts from beyond the arc as the not so hefty lefty carried Phoenix to its second win in five games.

TNT is now 0-3 and the pressure for the back-to-back champions to deliver is more telling now as it needs to pick up as many wins as possible to avoid early elimination.

Earlier, NLEX posted its second straight win after beating Blackwater, 80-72.
