Knights keep on winning, pick up 8 in a row in MPBL

As Nueva Ecija continued to assert its dominance in the ongoing MPBL 2025 Season, San Juan made sure it won’t be left behind as the Knights walloped the Batang Kankaloo of Caloocan, 76-61, on Monday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

It was the eighth win in as many games for the Knights, who now moved just half a game behind tournament leader Rice Vanguards, the only other team that has yet to lose a game this early part of the season.

The Rice Vanguards are sitting on top of the standings with a 9-0 mark., but the Knights wanted to stay relevant when it comes to keeping their perfect record.

Orlan Wamar kept things at hand for the Knights as he registered yet another double-double performance.

The spitfire, well-built guard came away with 12 points and 13 rebounds, but while Wamar set the direction for the squad, the team responded more efficiently, particularly on the defensive end.

The Knights all game long as they held the Batang Kankaloo to just 33.8% shooting from the field. San Juan’s second unit also proved to be more superior as its bench produced 55 points, 17 more than its rival.

Zamboanga upstaged Muntinlupa, 82-75, in the battle of two playoff contenders while Sarangani kept Bulacan winless, 148-111.
