Timberwolves make return trip to WC Finals, beat Warriors in Game 5

The Minnesota Timberwolves did the perfect way to end their Western Conference semifinals showdown with the Golden State Warriors — win it at home.

On Thursday, the Timberwolves did just that by finishing off the Warriors, 121-110, in Game 5 and advance to the championship round of the Western Division for the second straight season.

Julius Randle, plucked from New York before the trade deadline, played another solid game for the Timberwolves, finishing with 29 points, pulling down eight rebounds and dishing out five assists.

Anthony Edwards had a double-double performance of 22 points and 12 assists while four other players wound up in double figures for Minnesota, which played much better as a team, distributing a total of 36 assists, 15 more than Golden State.

Rudy Gobert made all but one attempt and finished with 17 points, Mike Conley produced 16 points and handed out eight assists, Jaden McDaniels contributed 14 and Donte DiVincenzo added 13 markers on top of six assists and four steals as the Timerwolves proved to be too much over the Steph Curry-less Warriors.
