NDSL U-19: Junior Altas edge Smash, 81-76

University of Perpetual Help turned to Lance Nitura in the endgame to outlast Smash, 81-76, Monday in the National Developmental Sports League Basketball Series at the Metpark Sports Arena.

Nitura scored five crucial points down the stretch — a three-point shot and a short stab — that touched off a solid ending for the Junior Altas.

He finished with 19 points, seven rebounds and two blocks while also getting plenty of help from Gard Dulanas, Kurt Velasquez, Jim Corpuz and Brent Rosales.

Dulanas fell a rebound short of a double-double performance of 13 points and nine rebounds. Velasquez also tallied 13 markers, Corpuz added 12 and Rosales chipped in 11.

University of Perpetual Help outscored Smash on points inside the paint, 46-36.
