Younger Smash stuns San Sebastian in NDSL under-19

Seeing its senior teammates getting outplayed by St. Clare, Smash’s under-19 squad made sure it will come out more prepared in surprising the San Sebastian Staglets and they did so by pulling off a huge 78-70 win on Wednesday in the National Developmental Sports League at the Metpark Sports Center.

Smash drew solid games from Khyles Sy, Jhayar Vinas and Luis Cruz plus ample support from the supporting cast in beating the Recto-based dribblers.

Sy finished with 17 markers, while Vinas went a rebound away from posting a double-double game, tallying 11 points and nine boards.

When it comes to rebounding, Luis Cruz took care of that for Smash, pulling down a total of 11 caroms to go along with seven markers.

Buit Smash also generated extra firepower from JR Eustaquio with 11 points and nine points from Von Alpuerto.

With enough player stepping up, Smash’s bench production was a big hit with a total of 40, nine more than its counterpart.
