Game 1 of the Western Conference finals series between Oklahoma and Minnesota was anti-climatic and the Thunder proved they’re a better team while announcing their aspirations of winning their first ever NBA crown.
With Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the rest of the team coming in all locked in, the Thunder were impossible to stop in scoring a dominating 114-88 victory at the Paycom Center and looking comfortably ahead of their next home game.
Gilgeous-Alexander scattered 31 points to go along with nine assists and three steals while his ever reliable support cast showed up when needed as Oklahoma scored 70 second-half points to put away the Timberwolves.
The Timberwolves came out flat, not getting the normal numbers they saw from Jaden McDaniels, Mike Conley, Naz Reid and Rudy Gobert, players who had breakout performances in the early rounds.
