Anti-climatic as it may seem, St. Clare easily gave Adamson a sound beating, 61-44, on Wednesday’s under-25 semifinals encounter in the National Developmental Sports League at the Metpark Sports Center.
Defense played a key role in the Saints’ domination of the Falcons, who were held down to just 10 points in three of the four quarters of the match.
The Falcons felt the Saints’ defense as they were held down to just 28.6% shooting from the field (16-of-56). St. Clare didn’t shoot well either, hitting only 39.7% (27-of-68), but the wards of coach Jinno Manansala outscored their rivals on points inside the paint, 32-20, and clobbered them in the battle of the boards, 51-32.
Moses Mandiria proved to be unstoppable in collaring those rebounds as he collected 20 as no one from his counterparts were able to hold a candle on him.
