Islanders continue to sail in TAT, tame Whales

Playing with no relief, Marvin Lee performed like a happy shooting man and embraced that role to perfection in leading the Kalmado Islanders to their second straight win in The Asian Tournament on Tuesday at The City of Passi Arena in Iloilo City following an 80-74 troumph over the Phuket Whales.

Lee uncorked 26 points, including six three-point shots, to spearhead the Islanders’ onslaught.

JM Ondevilla had a double-double game of 15 points and 16 assists and missed three rebounds away from posting a second triple-double game, but nevertheless, his all-around performance rubbed off on the entire squad.

Mark Redulfa added 14 markers and Buboy Barnedo contributed 12 for the Islanders.

The win allowed Kalmado to snare the early lead at 2-0 heading to its next game on Wednesday.
