Lewis drops 44, powers Loong Lions to 25-point beat down of Whales

Jordan Jamal Lewis erupted for 44 points and flirted with a near quadruple-double performance in leading the Guangzhou Loong Lions to a 108-83 sound beating of Phuket Whales in The Asian Tournament Wednesday at the City of Passi Iloilo.

Aside from pouring in his best offensive game in this leg, Lewis also grabbed nine rebounds, dished out eight assists and completed seven steals in a brilliant, all-around performance.

Lewis also got solid backing from four other players — Tianrun Gao, Chenshou Wang, Guanqi Chen, and Biajia Yao.

Gao contributed 16 points, while Wang and Chen added 12 apiece. Yao tallied 10 for the Loong Lions, who scored 31 points coming off the Whales’ turnovers.

The Lions also outsprinted and outgunned their rivals, scoring 20 points coming off transition while holding the Whales without a fastbreak point.

Guangzhou’s bench was also more superior as it totally outplayed its rival, 36-0.
