Ginebra unfazed by TNT’s new additions, scores convincing win

Barangay Ginebra focused its attention more on neutralizing the production of Roger Pogoy and Poy Erram and not giving much importance on TNT’s newest additions to hammer out a convincing 97-78 triumph on Sunday’s highly-anticipated showdown in the PBA Philippine Cup at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

Pogoy and Erram were hardly a factor for the Tropang 5G in their much anticipated rematch against the team it had beaten three times in finals matches the past two seasons.

A many-time national team member, Pogoy was limited to only eight points on 3-of-10 shooting from the field despite playing more than 30 minutes.

Erram was even more of an eye sore as he ended up with only two points and six rebounds while going in and out of the game. He was unable to help his team more as he hurt his ankle.

Jordan Heading, one of the two newest inclusions in the Tropang 5G roster, submitted 10 markers as he is slowly braking into the system of his new squad.

But Ginebra was all business as Japeth Aguilar had another solid double-double performance of 20 points and 14 rebounds.
