LeBron’s big numbers not enough to carry Lakers past gritty Timberwolves

LeBron James put on a clinical offensive show in another sterling performance for the Los Angeles Lakers.

Collectively, the Minnesota Timbwerwolves brought their A-game in their first home playoff outing this season and completed a 116-104 win in Game 3 to take a 2-1 series lead with the next game to be played in Minneapolis barely two days from now.

The Lakers watched James hitting big baskets after another, probably the most ridiculous treys made by the 40-year-old, all-=time great.

James hit five triples, a few of them from way, way out, and ended up with 38 points. Already the leading scorer in playoff history, he had added yet another big numbers to his collection.

While letting James having his moments, the Timberwolves were more focused getting the job done and with Luka Doncic visibly being bothered by a stomach bug — and a mystery whistleblower at one time — the home team was able to achieve more than needed.

Anthony Edwards and Jaden McDaniels proved to be the biggest thorns for the Lakers, but the support staff that include Julius Randle, Naz Reid, Donte DiVincenzo and Mike Conley proved to be enough to take back the series advantage.
