Ray Miller Jr isn’t about to wind down his career and on Thursday night, the 37-year-old, 6-foot-9 center made sure he’ll set a milestone to prove that he is still on top of his game.
Miller hit 60 to set the record for the most number of points in a single game and carried Fresh Kicks Gamu Wildcats to a 140-112 bashing of Phuket Whales in The Asian Tournament on Thursday at the City of Passi Arena in Iloilo.
Going 27-of-40 from the field, Miller also set the most number of attempts, but that hardly matter as long as the Wildcats cracked the win column after four days of competition.
The hardworking reinforcement also grabbed 24 rebounds and was virtually unstoppable for the Wildcats, who produced a massive 88-point production from points inside the paint, 42 more than their rivals.
But Miller didn’t lack support as three other players wound up in double figures.
Drian Celada and Joshua Saret each tallied 19 points and combined for nine three-point shots to complement Miller’s field day.
Bassieru Sackor had a double-double performance of 16 points and 10 boards.
