Seeing their elder teammates winning convincingly, San Beda’s under-19 team walked the tightrope but got the job done in the end against San Sebastian, 59-53, in the National Developmental Sports League Basketball Series at the Metpark Sports Arena Thursday.
Andrei Uggadan and Juris San Juan had near double-double games while also getting ample support from Basti Villanueva and Dwayne Nonato as the Red Cubs outlasted the Staglets.
Uggadan came away with 16 point and pulled down eight boards while San Juan had 11 markers on top nine rebounds. Villanueva produced 11 points while Nonato added nine for San Beda.
Team captain Duke Solon was the only player who wound up in double figures for the Staglets, scoring 15 markers.
