Pacers repeat over Knicks, move halfway to NBA finals

In a highly-anticipated battle featuring two players who disputed the Clutch Player of the Year, it was unheralded Pascial Siakam who stole the spotlight offensively in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals between the Indiana Pacers and the New York Knicks.

While focus of attention were on Jalen Brunson, winner of the Clutch Player of the Year award, and his closest rival, Tyrese Haliburton, Siakam was the main man in Game 2.

Siakam scored a career-playoff high 39 points and powered the Pacers to a 114-109 win over the Knicks and moved halfway to advancing to the championship round of the National Basketball Association Friday night (Saturday in Manila) at the Madison Square Garden in New York.

Siakam finished with 39 points on a steady 65.2% shooting from the field.

With Siakam leading the way and the Pacers showing more balance offensively, they’re headed home carrying a big momentum where they have a chance to finish off the series.

Five other Pacers ended up in double figures with Haliburton coming away with a double-double game of 14 points and 11 assists.

Myles Turner wound up with 16 markers, Aaron Nesmith and Andrew Nembhard had 12 each, and T.J. McConnell added 10 for the Pacers, who had eight more assists than the Knicks, 26-18.
