SGA wins MVP, performs like one in Thunder’s Game 2 victory

A few moments after accepting the Most Valuable Player award, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander stepped onto the court and left no doubt that he truly deserves to be the NBA’s most outstanding individual.

Gilgeous-Alexander had another explosive game, finishing with 38 points and carrying the Oklahoma Thunder halfway to the NBA Finals by leading his team to another convincing triumph — a 118-103 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves — in their Western Conference championshi[p series.

On top of his scoring prowess, Gilgeous-Alexander also displayed his all-around brilliance, by dishing out eight assists and stealing the ball three times.

What started to be a close encounter turned into a rout when the Thunder unloaded a 23-5 spurt to take the fight out of the Timberwolves.

Jalen Williams had a double-double performance of 26 points and 10 boards while Chet Holmgren added 22 for the Thunder and along with Gilgeous-Alexander, they formed the deadly triumvirate that is impossible to stop — at least in Game 2.
